| Meissen - tea cup and saucer, circa 1775. Cup: height 1 7/8", diameter 3 1/8". Saucer: diameter 5 1/4" Mark - crossed swords and dot in under glaze blue on saucer, crossed swards and star in under glaze blue, impressed painter's (?) mark on cup. The saucer interior and tea cup exterior are decorated in polychrome with a cherubs perched on clouds and springs of flower. The bottom interior of the cup decorated with bouquet of flowers. The tea cup is hemispherical with an ear- shaped handle. The borders are painted with red- orange mosaic design outlined in gold and the rim lines are gold. Very good original shape with no cracks, some wear to the surface and gold rim. | ||
