MEISSEN - tea cup and saucer circa 1750. Cup: height 1 3/4", saucer: diameter 4 7/8" Mark: crossed swords under glaze blue on cup and saucer, impressed numeral to cup and saucer. The tea cup painted with sprigs of " German flowers" (deutsche Blumen) and scattered flowers. The bottom interior of the cup decorated with flowers. The saucer is painted in polychrome with a branch of roses, scattered flowers and insects. The cup and saucer has brown - edged rim. Very good shape with no cracks, some wear to the surface and rim. |
