A saucer and cup circa 1745. Cup: height 1 3/4", saucer: diameter 5 1/8" Mark: crossed swords under glaze blue on cup and saucer, impressed into paste under glaze former's marks on both pieces. The cup is hemispherical and has an ear shaped handle.The center of the saucer and exterior of the cup painted with landscapes and harbor scenes in black monochrome, known as Schwarzlot. Two concentric rings painted in black frame the scene in the saucer and underline the scene on the cup. The interior bottom of the cup painted with a river scene framed in double circles. Gold rim lines. Condition: good. |
