"Tischenmuster" tea cup and saucer.

 

 
 


Tea cup and saucer circa 1735. Cup: height 1 3/4", saucer: diameter 5 3/8" Mark: crossed swords under glaze blue on cup and saucer, impressed former's mark ( Pfizner) to cup and saucer, painter's mark "J" in underglaze blue on saucer and "R" on inside foot ring on cup. The exterior of the tea cup and the interior of the saucer are painted in underglaze blue, gold and polychrome with the little-table or Tishchenmuster pattern. The interior borders of stylized flowers are painted in iron red and gold. Very good shape with no cracks, some wear to the surface and rim.
